About Me

Italian nutritionist living in Edinburgh offering individual nutrition advice and nutrition talks for companies and organisations. healthy diet and wellbeing

I am Valeria, a registered nutritionist (RNutr) in the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists (UKVRN).

My love for food comes from the nurturing memories of my childhood. I grew up in a small Italian town, where my family taught me how to grow food and how to cook from scratch. Food has never been just “fuel” for me, it is connection, culture and conviviality too.

I never fully realised how important these things were for me, until I started to backpacking and I met many people coming from all over the world. By volunteering for various charities I became more aware of things such as social justice, food insecurity and the right and dignity to food. These insights truly changed the way I used to think of food, nutrition and health.  Meanwhile, I also had some health issues and I was diagnosed with coeliac disease.

We all want to feel well. A healthy lifestyle can make us feel better inside out. However, there can be many barriers impeding people from living their best life and there is a lot of misleading information about nutrition that can leave people feel overwhelmed by the lack of clarity and reality.

These are the reasons why I decided to become a nutritionist. I want to support people during their health journey, helping and empowering them to improve their eating habits and lifestyle and to maintain the results in the long-term. I moved to Edinburgh (where i currently live!) where I graduated from Queen Margaret University with a Bachelor of Science with honours in nutrition.
